Hydra Usenet
Hydra Usenet is a very young Usenet provider that only launched in 2026. Its website sells non-expiring block accounts from 100 GB to 1 TB with 10 to 25 connections, and the servers are in the USA and the EU. Many details are still left open by the provider.

A Usenet backbone forms the physical "backbone" of the Usenet infrastructure, on which the actual newsgroups and files (binaries) are stored.

Retention Time
Retention indicates how long posts remain available on the servers. Depending on the provider and backbone, this can vary greatly. If you value the longest possible availability, this filter is particularly useful.

Privacy & Jurisdiction
Our privacy rating considers not only technical measures, but also the legal jurisdiction a provider operates under.
Providers subject to US jurisdiction may be required to disclose user data under applicable US laws, including the CLOUD Act. This can also apply to data stored outside the United States.
Providers based solely within the EU operate under GDPR and European legal safeguards. Government access to user data is subject to applicable national and EU law and generally requires a specific legal basis.
For our privacy rating, jurisdiction is a key factor. Providers subject to US jurisdiction therefore receive a lower privacy rating, regardless of where their servers are located.

Abuse Procedure
A DMCA Notice is the formal notification from a rights holder to a platform that content infringes their copyright. Takedown refers to the subsequent action of the platform operator to promptly remove this content to avoid liability. The Notice is the trigger, the Takedown is the result.

All About Hydra Usenet
Hydra Usenet is a very new provider: its website has only been online since summer 2026, and there are hardly any user reports or reviews yet. The provider itself is also sparing with information – the homepage sticks to a few key facts. Here we summarise what can be said at this point, and we will update this page as soon as more is known.
Block accounts with no expiry date
Directly through its website, Hydra sells block accounts in four sizes from 100 GB to 1 TB. The volume does not expire, and depending on the package, 10 to 25 simultaneous connections are included. Payment is by credit card or crypto; alternatively, you can redeem credit tokens issued by authorised resellers.
Several networks, servers in the USA and the EU
According to its terms, Hydra is a reseller: the service buys capacity on other providers' servers and switches automatically between several networks when there are disruptions. Its peering page currently lists Its Hosted as a connected network. Access points are in the USA and the EU, and connections are encrypted via SSL only. Hydra states its retention as more than 100 days – established providers usually keep articles for several years.
What is still unclear
On several points that matter when choosing a provider, Hydra gives no or only brief information so far. There is no imprint naming the company behind the service, and there is no free trial or money-back guarantee either – according to the terms, purchased blocks cannot be refunded once the login details have been issued. There are no reviews on Trustpilot yet.
